27 May 2006 - Welcome Shiloh Nouvel

From http://www.celebrity-babies.com/  (well, I simply couldn't skip this, due to my crazy obsession for the twice sexiest man alive!)

May 27, 2006 - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcome daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt

People has exclusively announced that Angelina Jolie, 30, and Brad Pitt, 42, have welcomed a daughter. The little girl, Shiloh Nouvel, was born early on the night of May 27th in Namibia - the german mag Bild reports the birth time as 1:30 am, while other press reports say 1:04 or 1:40 am. Reports of the place of birth are conflicting - People reports the birth took place at The Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, while Yahoo says it occured at Welwitschia Clinic in Walvis Bay, and a local journalist reports that it may have occured at the Burning Shores resort itself, as there was no movement of the Jolie-Pitt vehicles noted.Shiloh is welcomed by big brother, Maddox, 4 1/2, and big sister, Zahara, 16 months. According to In Touch tabloid magazine, the baby has "tufts of brown hair and Brad's nose." The first name, which is traditionally masculine, is pronounced SHY-low, and is of Hebrew origin. There seem to be many meanings for the name, ranging from "his gift" and "he who is to be sent," to "peaceful." Shiloh is also the site of a crucial battle in the American Civil War. The middle name is believed to be inspired by famous architect Jean Nouvel - a favorite of Brad's.In addition to the birth statement, Brad's rep says that the couple will not be releasing any more birth information, or any photographs. Therefore, we probably won't get any weight and length information, or confirmation or denial of the rumored c-section, although stats may be released through unofficial channels in the coming days. The families have talked to the press about the birth however, with brother Doug Pitt saying that he is "overjoyed," and estranged father Jon Voight saying, "I'm so excited, this is wonderful. I am just so very, very happy for both of them. My love is always with them and I wish them all the happinessin the world. God bless them both." Local Namibian governor Samuel Nuuyoma added that, "This is delightful news and it is an honour for our country, Namibia...the birth of a baby is something very special in our African tradition." Deputy Minister Leon Jooste shares that, "Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt will, according to Namibian law, be allowed to obtain Namibian citizenship if the parents should choose to do so," adding that a Namibian passport for the new arrival would be discussed with the parents at a later time. He also added that Jolie and Pitt are "thoroughly overjoyed...and they have expressed their happiness to be able to share this experience in Namibia."

Kawasaki Day

 motards.jpg

Last saturday and yesterday at Imola, near Bologna, in the same circuit that hosts F1 Grand Prix and Superbike Championship, was held an all-day event for the proud owners of a Kawasaki bike. For the ones knowing italian, who want to learn more about it, check this site http://www.kawasakiday2006.it/ . It has been a very nice day, very hot and sunny. We went with a couple of friends, we met a lot of people and had a lot of fun. Basically the event was for the really egomaniacs who want to test their ability to drive on the race track with others egomaniacs (women too) and win a trophy. God, they drove so fast! There were also some accidents, luckily with no serious consequences. Then the free-stylers took the scene, these men are really crazy, trust me! They made their acrobatics look so simple and easy, but I can only imagine how much time they spent training. I wanted to buy a pair of original Kawasaki shoes, black and green, but my size was sold out, damm! Now I have to look for them on the official catalogue. Anyway, it was a nice break of the daily routine (well, less the traffic on our way back home!)

Here's our own Kawasaki, a black Z750S

A tragedy

As we hadn't enough lately. Yesterday my uncle shot himself. My worst fear finally came true. He left a letter, his depression (and maybe his regrets) left him with no more hope and way out. His life (mined by depression for a long time) had no more meaning without his wife, losing her was the only way he came to undertand how much she was important to him, and he couldn't stand it no more. I hope he's in peace now.

Happy Birthday

bearsbday.jpg   Today daddy turns 80. It should be a very important day, to spend all in the family, celebrating. But daddy doesn't even know what this means, or what a birthday is. He doesn't even know his name, or who we are. So, it's just another day, alike so many others, lost in his mind. But he's my daddy, the one who was sad when he had to rebuke me, the one who was jealous of my husband (or of the air I breathed), the one who just fell immediately in love with my daughter, the one who was simply there everytime I needed him. So, happy birthday daddy, I love you.

Close encounters of the third kind

getwellcard1.jpg  to me, coz for two days I had a very bad toothache!! Last night I almost cried for the pain, nothing seemed to help, so this morning I called my dentist, begging him to find time to visit me. So he saw me (this is the reason of the strange title of today's post) but my gum is too swollen and too painful to touch. He prescribed me some antibiotics for 7 days, then I have to do some X-ray and then come back to him for extracting my wisdom tooth! And I'm terrorized by dentists, but I'm far more scared from this kind of pain, I can't wait for the antibiotics to do their job, and get rid of this tooth! It's so painful I can barely think!

Happy wedding anniversary to us, Gracie and Raf, it's 22 years, not always a bed of roses, but we're still here, still together, so maybe we're doing something right, uhu?

May

It's the month of the year I like the most. Why? I don't really know, but it has always been the same for me, in fact it's the month we choose for our wedding! I guess it's the time of the year when you forget about the coldness of the winter and in the air you can smell the promise of the summer to come. It's the time you start to undress yourself, and while doing so, you left behind your dark moments and toughts, too. The days are longer, brighter, sunnier, and you feel you simply have to adjust to the season. It's the time of the year when you feel the need to stay in the open air, breathing at its fullest after all the rain and the fog you had to endure in the past winter. It's the month of the roses, when the nature re-borns again. It's now that you begin to make plans for the summer vacations, enjoying this expectation as much as the vacation itself! Too bad it's also the time of the year I'm working 10 hours a day, the sunlight outside my window calling me uselessy, taxes are requiring all my attention, damn!!
