Simple thoughts

Just a few days, really, but when I will be online again, it will be december.
Tomorrow my aunt from Genoa will be here, and she will spent tomorrow night at the hospital with dad, so I will have a saturday night off. We have fixed a quiet evening at home with a couple of friends, just to talk and relax a little bit.
I will be with dad sunday night, so I'll take monday off, to sleep and do some business.

What I'd like to do is get my hands on one bottle of this



and be like this for an entire week

It was too good to last forever!
Do you remember that appointment we have with our friends every year, usually the 8th december, to make our typical Christmas cake?





Well, this year we have to disappoint a lot of people (friends and families) because the production process is on hiatus. One of the "bakery staff" lady is forced to bed till the end of january due to a broken tibia and fibula. Another one is every day at her mother's home coz the old lady is not well and she needs constant care. And I'm busy with dad in hospital. This left only one couple free, but they can't manage this things alone.
So yesterday evening the phone rang for hours, multiple conversations took place, but at the end we reached a common agreement: no spongata production this year!
At least, we hope to have lunch together one sunday before Christmas to exchange gifts ( this was usually done at the end-of-the -bakery-and-cooking-process dinner).
I will deeply miss the event, it's one of my best memory concerning my friends.

Nothing really to tell you about, my life is just work, hospital (with a lot of reading) and some sleep. So......

I spent last saturday night at the hospital caring for dad (during the week we have two girls doing that) and when I came back home early sunday morning, I went directly to bed, never mind about lunch. When I woke up, Marty surprised me with a sort of sunday brunch

What can I say? Just that

My best friend lately is coffee, I can keep my eyes open only this way

And this is my dad, I took the photo last april, in his nursing home, he was pretty ok back then even if he didn't talk or walk.

 

I was upset because of his conditions, and now seeing him in a hospital bed with all those tubes inside his body, I whish I could turn back time.

Even if I'm not in the right mood to give thanks now, I know I have (and I had) a life much more easier and happy than a lot of people can say. So, waiting for better time...............Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I know, I'm boring lately, but all our lives are wrapped around dad. Nothing else happens, because we all spend our time with him at the hospital. Today he's scheduled to be moved to another department, the one specialized in breathing issues. It's one of the oldest part of the structure, not yet renovated (all our local hospital is undergoing a big renovation with new departments and a new medical and nursering schools) but it's what he needs right now, where he stayed this last week, they have done everything they could to fix his condition at the best, now he has to recover (for as much as he can) from the pneumonia.

He's still in hospital, his conditions are fixed but bad. His white globules are back to normal and his blood oxygen is higher than two days ago. What is worsened is the lungs conditions. They have suffered so much in the last month (and being in bed doesn't help them to breath) due to a bad bronchitis (badly cured last time he was in hospital) and to a heavy pneumonia due to some foods misplaced there (he had some difficulties to swallow lately). The docs are very nice, and they are doing all what's possible, but they are not God. I guess it's only a matter of time, we have to wait and to hope he won't suffer, he doesn't deserve it. Yesterday night he was a little more awake than usual, he fixed his eyes in mine, he seemed willing to tell me something, but all I could do was hold his hand and tell him how much I love him.

He's in the hospital again, this time it's very bad. Problems with lungs and kidneys.
Just praying, but I'm not sure about what.
